Remote Work in Casablanca: Coworking, Cafés and Tips

A time zone close to Europe, good connectivity, a reasonable cost of living and the ocean nearby: Casablanca attracts more and more remote workers. Here is how to get organized.

Time zone

Morocco usually runs on GMT+1, switching to GMT during Ramadan. You are on the same time as Paris in winter, or one hour behind in summer: ideal for working with Europe.

Where to work

Coworking spaces

You'll find coworking spaces in Maarif, Casablanca Finance City, near the Twin Center and at the Technopark. They offer day, week or month passes, with meeting rooms.

Cafés

Several cafés in Maarif and Gauthier welcome laptops outside meal times. Order regularly and avoid the lunch rush.

Your apartment

Often the most comfortable option. All our apartments have fiber WiFi, and most have a proper place to work.

Connectivity

  • Fiber WiFi in all our apartments
  • A local SIM card as a backup (see our guide to SIM cards in Morocco)
  • Speeds are generally good in central neighborhoods

Planning a long stay

  1. Stay at least 2 weeks to enjoy the city without stress.
  2. Use long-stay rates: up to -20% for a month at MK Rent.
  3. Keep time for the ocean: a run on the Corniche before work.
