Casablanca by Night: Rooftops, the Corniche and Going Out
Casablanca is Morocco's liveliest city after sunset. Here is where to spend your evenings, whether you want a quiet dinner or a big night out.
Rooftops
Several hotels and restaurants downtown, in Maarif and on the Corniche have rooftop terraces. Have a drink at sunset with a view over the city or the ocean. Book at weekends.
The Ain Diab Corniche
The heart of the nightlife:
- Seafront restaurants to dine to the sound of the waves
- Bars and lounges to carry on the evening
- Clubs to dance late
In summer, the Corniche stays lively until late at night.
Dining in town
- Maarif and Gauthier: the highest concentration of restaurants, from Moroccan cuisine to international tables
- Rick's Café: a 1940s atmosphere inspired by the film Casablanca, with a pianist
Culture at night
Concerts, theater, cinema: check the programs of the city's theaters, foreign cultural institutes and concert halls.
Ramadan, a different rhythm
During Ramadan, the city comes alive after the fast is broken: busy cafés, lively streets and late evenings. An experience to have at least once.
Getting home safely
